NEW YORK –Registration is now open for the fourth annual One Day Immersion in TV, Cable & Digital Entertainment (ODI), which is open to students currently enrolled at any accredited college or university and offers insider seminars and networking with top executives from leading media and entertainment companies. The event’s 2016 keynote conversation features HBO Chairman and CEO Richard Plepler, head of the world’s most successful pay TV service, who will share his secrets for success. The company reaches over 131 million subscribers worldwide through its HBO and Cinemax networks, and is responsible for hit shows such as Game of Thrones, GIRLS, Veep, Silicon Valley, Ballers, Late Night with John Oliver and The Night Of.
One Day Immersion (ODI) takes places from 8:00am – 5:30pm EDT on Friday,
October 21, at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University in New York. Presented by The Cable Center, ODI is free for all currently-enrolled college students, faculty and recent graduates. To register, visit www.onedayimmersion.com.
This one-day program offers unprecedented networking opportunities with some of today’s most successful entertainment and media imaginative thinkers, and includes interactive panel discussions with media executives, and the chance to learn about internships and job opportunities. The 2016 One Day Immersion in TV, Cable & Digital Entertainment program also includes a morning coffee meet and greet and a special afternoon session with Comcast/NBCUniversal in which hiring managers will provide a company-wide overview with direction on how students can apply for internship and career opportunities, as well as conduct speed-dating style five-minute interviews. This year’s program keynote features a conversation with HBO Chairman and CEO, Richard Plepler. Plepler is responsible for the overall management of the world’s most successful pay TV service, which provides the two television networks – HBO and Cinemax – to over 131 million subscribers in over 60 countries and its programming into over 180 territories.
