Austin, TX - Today, Rooster Teeth’s news channel ‘The Know’ announces former ‘Ain’t It Cool News’ reporter Eric Vespe is joining the staff as a Senior Writer and will be responsible for leading entertainment reporting. Vespe will be responsible for original reporting, interviews, and developing new shows around entertainment for The Know, whose programs are available on Rooster Teeth’s SVOD, FIRST, and The Know’s YouTube channel.
The Know is one of the largest destinations for geek news on the internet, covering video games, movies, TV, consumer tech, and science with a casual, lighthearted spin that's attracted more than 1 million subscribers on YouTube and nearly a half million viewers per day. The Know’s staff produces daily news videos with a heavy emphasis on gaming. Vespe’s hiring will expand The Know’s entertainment coverage significantly.
Vespe has been obsessed with movies since before he can remember. At the tender age of 14 Eric somehow convinced legendary comedian George Carlin to do an interview for his high school newspaper (which he wasn't even a reporter for at the time) and that began Eric on the path to becoming a professional movie geek. Vespe became a cornerstone personality of Ain't It Cool News, one of the very first movie news websites on the Internet, and has become a high profile critic, interviewer and feature writer whose work has also appeared at Slashfilm, Collider and Popular Mechanics. He is also the world's strongest defender of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
"I've been a fan of Eric's work for years and I'm beyond excited to have the opportunity to work with him to revolutionize the way we report on movies and entertainment,” said Ashley Jenkins, Executive Producer and creator of The Know. “We're already working on exciting original content that I can't wait for everyone to see."
