NAACP president and CEO Derrick Johnson says tonight's (March 30) NAACP Image Awards event continues the civil rights organization's focus on the entertainment industry's efforts to showcase positive African-American images and stories.

"We created the Image Awards to assure that we held the industry accountable for projecting positive images for our community," Johnson said during a recent video interview.

Actor Anthony Anderson (black-ish) is set to return as host for Tv One's live coverage of the 50th NAACP Image Awards, which honor outstanding performances in film, television, music, and literature.
