National Geographic Sets November Debut of 'Sea Of Shadows' Documentary

National Geographic will premiere the documentary film Sea of Shadows commercial free on Nov. 9, the network said Monday.

The documentary follows scientists, high-tech conservationists, investigative journalists, undercover agents and the Mexican Navy as they seek to save vanishing marine life off the Baja Peninsula, according to the network. Mexican drug cartels and Chinese traffickers have joined forces to poach rare totaba fish in the Sea of Cortez, and their deadly methods are threatening virtually all marine life in the region, including the endangered whale species the vaquita porpoise, said Nat Geo.

Sea of Shadows, which was awarded a Sundance audience award, is produced by National Geographic Documentary Films.
